Gail, Anne, Robbin, and Holly Crouthamel (mother and three daughters) are the artists and owners of Four Calling Birds, Ltd. We create handmade and hand-glazed ceramics and original, handpainted artwork. Our appreciation for nature, color, detail, and historical designs from early America, Sweden, and the Netherlands is evident in our work. Our pieces complement both traditional and contemporary settings, and we specialize in creating custom designs. We exhibit and sell our art at shows and by appointment at our home/studio/gallery, in Bucks County, PA. Our work has been featured in Country Home magazine, Early American Life magazine, and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Upon invitation, we created an ornament for the Blue Room Christmas tree in the White House. The Four Calling Birds have been listed in Early American Life's juried Directory of the Top 200 American Craftsmen.

Anne, Robbin, and Holly are musicians as well. We were homeschooled, and studied classical music on violins, piano, and viola from early ages. Our private music teachers included members of the teaching staffs of the Curtis Institute and the Juilliard School, as well as members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. From the beginning of our musical educations, we enjoyed performing both together and separately in recitals, concerts, and church services. As we grew up, we participated in youth orchestras and chamber music groups, won numerous scholarships and competitions, and performed as soloists with orchestras in NJ and PA. When we developed an interest in Celtic and American folk music, we taught ourselves to play the hammered and mountain dulcimers, guitar, drums, Irish flute, and quena. Our repertoire now includes our own arrangements of Celtic and American folk music, Christian music, classical music, and Robbin's original compositions. We perform at festivals, benefits, museums, churches, and private events.

We have recorded five CDs, "In The Meadow", a collection of Celtic and American folk music, "Over The River and Through The Woods", a Christmas collection, "Wrens In The Thicket", a combination of Celtic music and Robbin's original compositions, "A Thistledown Nest", all original compositions, and "Under A Star", a second Christmas collection. "Morning Sky" from "A Thistledown Nest" was a finalist in the 2005 USA Songwriting Competition. "Under A Star" was broadcasted on over 30 radio stations in 2006 and 2007.
